About the initiative
Women In Tech is a community-driven initiative by SouthRift Digital Innovation Hub (SRDI Hub) focused on empowering women and girls through technology, innovation, leadership, and digital opportunities. The initiative creates an inclusive space where women can explore digital skills, connect with mentors, share ideas, and participate in innovation that transforms communities.
Rooted within the South Rift Region, the initiative actively supports local women communities and promotes the growth of Kipsigis Women in Tech in Bomet County by increasing access to technology education, entrepreneurship opportunities, mentorship, and digital inclusion.
Through collaborations with international bodies, development partners, educational institutions, and technology organizations, Women In Tech provides exposure to global innovation trends, leadership opportunities, networking forums, and internationally aligned digital learning experiences.
At SRDI Hub, women and girls benefit from hands-on innovation activities, collaborative learning, mentorship sessions, and access to fully equipped digital laboratories and creative spaces designed to inspire innovation, confidence, and sustainable growth.
The initiative is committed to promoting gender equality, digital empowerment, and greater participation of women in technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and community leadership across Kenya and East Africa.
